I have tried my best to compile the solutions and the approximate cutoff for this years paper at one place.. But I would like your help in that! First check out the key and see how many marks you are getting.. After that write in a comment telling the rest of us about your marks.. So we can get a rough estimate about the papers of others and thus we can calculate the expected cutoff.. When more and more people come and write their marks we can then come to know about the ranks..
Give your expected marks here!
Here are the keys/solutions
Career Point Solutions!
There are many questions wrongly solved in these keys... But yes, they are good for approximations..
Nearly 7.5 lac appeared in the AIEEE 08. Students gave mixed reactions on the question of the paper being tough or not. The result for AIEEE 08 will be held on/or before 6 June 08. Till then you can see the key and approximate your result.
The solutions/key for AIEEE 08 independent of the series.. The answers will be given in the solution and not the option!! Best of luck!
Here Let me just give a small insight..
The expected cutoff for top 1000 ranks would be around 235 to 240 as the paper was bit hard and also they had twisted bit of the questions. The most surprising thing was the assertion reasoning questions in the exam.
Many people do have queries about the rank so here is the expected rank list-
Above 250-top 500
225-250 top 1000
190-225 Above 10000
90-110 70000-100000This simply means maybe people with about 70-80 marks will be called for state counseling and people above 90-100 will be called for national counseling.
The most preference is given to Aeronautical, Electronics and computers.. Then come the fields of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical etc..
AS Alec Smart said: "Is 100000 a rank or Pakistan's population?"

I just came up with this list. Its a small break up of the visitors who visited my blog during this week.
United Arab Emirates
A break up of US shows!
The most visits came from a place called Castro Valley in California.
Now, lets head to UK
Now, Norway! The only visits were from Oslo.. Strange!
Then we move to UAE!
Besides Jeddah and Riyadh contributed to 2 visits each..
Lets head to the truly Asia part of the world... Malaysia!
Now, back to the Americas in Canada!

Now, I am starting to get bored.. Here is a joke in between!
The man was very upset and yelled, ''You know, you could have broken the news to me better than that. When I called today, you could have said he was on the roof and wouldn't come down. Then when I called the next day, you could have said that he had fallen off and the vet was working on patching him up. Then when I called the third day, you could have said he had passed away.''
The brother thought about it and apologized.
"So how's Mom?" asked the man.
"She's on the roof and won't come down."
That summorizes it!.. There were also visits from countries like Portugal, Oman, Bangladesh, Thailand, Bahrain, Philippines, and New Zealand!
Now, we come to the main reason behind this post.. If you are from any of these places please introduce yourself and tell us how you are related/interested to/in Kashmir. Kashmiris are everywhere and thats a good sign.. America, Europe and SouthEast Asia.. So if you have read this post, please introduce yourself.. Maybe we could get a small estimate about the places where Kashmiris are there...
Alec Smart said: "Why are so many visits from India, eh?"
I replied: "India has the largest population and gives the largest number of tourists (read visitors) to Kashmir"

I am missing my school. I am 'really' missing my school.
Its a cruel cruel world out here..
The first batch of ours (12th) failed to make an impact.. One guy would have had a position but because of the negligence of school authorities he was declared as 'reappear'. They hadnt sent his internal marks to the Jammu 'Na' Kashmir Board as a result of which his result was withheld.. And our school lost a precious position.
As I see the school buses moving on the roads, my eyes lit up and then dim down... I am no longer a part of the institution.. I know it has started to deteriorate.. All because of the filthy rich getting their business minded boys to study in .. Quality of education suffers.. They dont want to become doctors as such, they just want to expand the huge business empires...
Money + No worry for studying = School deterioration
Something needs to be done...

I said: "Its not a hill.. Its our progress report graph starting to get a downfall"

Alec Smart Said: "So what does the IPL actually stnad for?"
I replied: "Well, Indian Paisa league"
Well, well and just who will ring the bell...
Today I gave my VITEEE exam in Cambridge foundation school, Rajouri Garden, Delhi and I was actually like a ek chota bacha feeling very lonely in the exam classroom. For those who are concerned about how my exam went and which bus it took (for that matter how many it killed along the way) well- no comments!!
So what if I didn't know that there was this guy who was also from Kashmir... Well, it is not that a Kashmiri has the tag 'Kashmir' stamped on his forehead but well there are many things unexplainable as in one can recognise a Kashmiri from many in a crowd...So on this one occasion when I 'didn't' recognise one, he helped me recognize himself.. In addition to the fact that he resembled a Kashmiri there was one thing which really told me that he was but a bro!!! (hey, we didn't cheat OK!!)
So the wind was blowing and blowing hot!! And suddenly the door to our room accelerated(blown by the wind of course)... and and and.... bang... everyone glanced up but there was no sound.. no sound from others, to be more clear... I thought of doing it but the other Kashmiri beat me to it... Yes, he succeeded in a long inhalation of air in that special koshur way such that the sound made is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Alec Smart said: So what he responded first to the bang, I was the one who helped the wind :) (pun intended here)

I admit.. Really good films are really tough to find.. And add to it a really good story and lots of hardwork..
Pan's Labyrinth is one such film which I am going to recommend to everyone.. Its beautiful, its dramatic and its in Spanish.. Well, the audio is in Spanish but we are made to understand the things by small English translations called as subtitles..
But honestly this film is a must watch.. After a lot of research on the net I came to know that it has won 3 Oscars besides some other awards as well..
The story focuses on a girl Ofelia who , actually a princess was initially tempted by the human world.. The story begins when Ofelia and her mother Carmen are travelling to join Captain Vidal ( her new stepfather ) at his post in the mountains. Then the story takes A U-turn and a perfect turn for that matter...
I am not actually reviewing the film but I would like to write about the character of Captain Vidal. Well, Vidal is a mad guy. Imagine, in a scene he has to question a farmer and his son, the former having been found in the mountains with a rifle. Vidal listens to their claim that the father had only been hunting rabbits, but when the son keeps interrupting, he snaps, brutally beating the son on the face with a glass bottle, literally shown destroying his nose before shooting both of them. In another scene he is shown torturing a captured enemy and torturing him with pliers and other tools... It is so scary..
Well.. I think I am destroying the story.. Here is something by an expert
In 1944, in the post-Civil War in Spain, rebels still fight in the mountains against the fascist troops. The young and brave Ofelia travels with her pregnant and sick mother Carmen Vidal to the country to meet and live with her stepfather, the sadistic and cruel Captain Vidal, in an old mill. During the night, Ofelia meets a fairy and together they go to a pit in the center of a maze where they meet a faun that tells that she is a princess from a kingdom in the underground. He also tells that her father is waiting for her, but she needs to accomplish three gruesome, tough and dangerous assignments first. Built in highly dramatic surrounding the film is a must watch. Meanwhile, she becomes friend of the servant Mercedes, who is the sister of one of the rebels and actually is giving support to the group. In a dark, harsh and violent world, Ofelia lives her magical world trying to survive her tasks and sees her father and king again.
And imagine the effect which the film has had on me.. I am now starting to learn Spanish..
Habla un poco Espanol..
Alec Smart said... "Your exams are just a week away and you are watching films"
I replied... "Un momento, let me write my blog peacefully"
Here is the official link... Do visit it.. Even if you are not interested in the film, do visit the site for the eye candy.. Please I beg ya!
And here is the trailer if someone has the time..

The new AMERICAN Quran: a dangerous trick!
A new but fake replica of the Qur'an is being distributed in Kuwait, titled "The True Furqan". It is being described as the ayats of the Shaytan and Al-Furqan weekly magazine has found out that the two American printing companies;' Omega 2001' and 'Wine Press' are involved in the publishing of 'The True Furqan', a book which has also been titled 'The 21st Century Quran'!
It is over 366 pages and is in both the Arabic and English languages...it is being distributed to children in Kuwait in the private English schools! The book contains 77 Surats, which include Al-Fatiha, Al-Jana and Al-Injil.
Instead of Bismillah, each Surat begins with a longer version of this incorporating The Christian belief of the three spirits. And this so called Quran opposes many Islamic beliefs. It uses a new system for the sharing out of the will, opposing the current one. It states that Jihad is HARAAM. This book even goes as far as attacking Allah, Subhanahu wa Tahala! All this is poisoning our children at approx. $3.
Brothers and Sisters please make sure you forward this email to as many people as possible so that we can stop this dangerous trick. Please tell everyone you know and may Allah reward you. DONT BELIEVE IT?....
Plz review nothing more is asked... May Allah guide u and us on straight path and give us the place in Jannah!! Ameen!!!
