Review: Genuine Islamic Websites

My last post describes some Un-Islamic Sites which are better to be avoided. In this post I review some very good Islamic Sites. I got the list from -
Some links in there dont work anymore but well I saved you the hardwork and came up with these..

My personal favourite.. Everyone has heard of Harun Yahya..There are full books available, audio books as well.. You can download all the books of Harun Yahya from here.. Most of them are free.. Whereas you have to buy the others.. Go and bookmark it now!

IRF stands for Islamic Reseach Foundation. And this site is associated with Zakir Naik.. There are special sections for Ladies and Chilren as well.. However the best thing is its FAQs.. Answers to the most interesting queries.. This one is to polish you skills and is practically suitable..

Perhaps the best known site.. Islam Online is a huge portal for everything.. The best thing about it is that since it has many visitors, there are comparably many options for you.. People ask questions and the questions are superbly answered. Besides they have a huge archive of articles and questions which are enough to fine tune your mind.. Errr- You still here!

Ahmm Ahmm.. Soqte or School Of Orthoepy and Theology! Our own Kashmiri representative..It is not a well designed site, however, has enough for you.. Established at Zaina Kadal, this institution has been a major factor for awareness among Muslims in Kashmir since it foundation in 1995.. Its a Darasgah of the Valley equipped with modern communication tools for the effective teaching of Qur'an and Hadith..

like it for its Qur'an memorizer thing.. Its a comprehensive web portal featuring everything you need.. Besides the articles are written in simple English and easy enough for anyone to understand..

ell most of us want to download Islamic Software one say or the other... Or even for that matter Hadith like Sahih Bukhari.. Well go no further and head to Islamasoft!

Cat Stevens or Yousuf Islam!! A must see site for all its candy and useful stuff.. Lots of cool things to be done there.. Come on it deserves you one visit..

he official site of Dr. Bilal Philips.. It is a good site considering the amount of ahrdwork put into it.. We can download Islamic Videos, Audios and other publications as well.. However it does have a good FAQ section though not as elaborative as other sites have...

It has 26 books available at the time of writing this.. It is not too big neither comprehensive and the big fonts dont help either..

A big collections of links guaranteed to correct your confusions and misinterpretations.. It has lots and lots of quality articles available.. Well, Go there right now.. The site doesnt have eye candy and redirects you to other Islamic sites..

Last but not the least.. Al-Sunnah.. Responsible for many conversions.. Available in many languages as well.. Has lots of categorised articles, downloads, and books..

So this was the crux regarding the most popular Islamic Sites.. For a list on Un-Islamic Sites Please check the archive..

Review : Anti-Islamic Sites

Recently I had written a post on an antiIslamic site. I really thought of finding other such sites for you.

The following are the list of Anti-Islamic sites. These sites are run by anti-Islamic elements. and are so convincing that it is not easy to make out the difference. Muslims are warned against visiting/using these sites.

Fellow muslims brothers are requested to forward such sites through mails and scraps to add in to this list.

And, last request please dont visit any of these sites if you are a bit weak at will power..

I have visited these sites and have come up with their reviews.. But first a warning..

"Caution: There is Another anti-Islamic Site"
Why issuing an alert letter is precisely the wrong thing to do

By Khalid Baig

"The most anti-Islamic site will die if it faces a frozen counter. That would happen if you just leave it alone. But if you are out there telling everyone about it and asking them to do the same, you are in effect volunteering as their publicity department."

The alert letters keep coming. Beware here is the latest anti-Islamic site. Then a URL so you can verify that it is indeed as described. Then a passionate request to tell all the Muslims in the world about it.

Sincere. Misguided. Counter-productive.

Little do the senders realize that they are actually helping the very sites they are trying to fight.

The failure is in realizing that the Internet is a very different medium and the rules that applied to the previous media do not always apply here. If there is a bad magazine or book out there, you can tell others about it. We can be sure that nobody will rush to the closest bookseller to buy it. The warning may be useful, if there was a chance that some people could have bought the book out of ignorance.

In the click-click world of the Internet, the first thing most people will do is to click on the URL, thereby increasing the hit counts and boasting the morale of the site owners. Second, it will help it with search engine placement, as some of them will use the increased curiosity traffic as a sign of popularity. You just helped create the monster you wanted to fight!

It is common sense. If you don't want people to visit a site, just don't tell them about it.

It is very easy to setup a page on the Internet. It is very difficult to draw traffic to it. The most anti-Islamic site will die if it faces a frozen counter. That would happen if you just leave it alone. But if you are out there telling everyone about it and asking them to do the same, you are in effect volunteering as their publicity department. That is exactly what they need.

If there is a well-established site (like CNN) it makes sense to launch a protest campaign. But for most of the sites the prudent course is just the opposite. Leave it alone. Let it die of neglect. A natural death. The greater the lack of attention, the faster will be the death of this would be monster.

So the next time you receive an alert letter about an anti-Islamic site, just delete it. If you respond to the sender, do not include the original text of his alert email, because even that may help some search engine ranking.

There were dozens of anti-Islamic sites that sprang up recently but died soon after because, luckily, our enthusiasts had not noticed them and had not publicized them through their alert letters. The ones that receive the alert letter mention will, unfortunately, survive and may thrive.

On the Internet, the best use of your energies is to promote the good Islamic sites. Let the good drive out the evil.

One more thing that I will add.. I am telling you about this because if unfortunately you were redirected to these sites while you were searching for Islamic queries, dont believe them. All you can do is that remember the URLs of these sites... BUT DONT VISIT THEM.. I have just given one link below and yes you are allowed to visit it.. This link shows us that Jesus was buried in Kashmir...

So lets start the reviews.. > This site actually uses the new testament to contradict the Qur'an.. Christian Site, I guess.. There is a section on Qura'nic Errors.. Poor people.. They actually find errors in the new testament.. And yes for those still cofused, new testament is the human edited version of the bible.. > Looks like a good site at first.. Had me fooled for quite sometime.. It even has a section for converting to Islam.. So I had a look into that section.. First few articles indeed looked clean but as we move on they start to misguide us.. They use filthy logic for proving things.. Stupid and idiotic logic.. > While on my mission in checking out these sites I came to this one and couldnt stop laughing. You know Why? There is an article that Jesus travelled to Kashmir and his tomb can be found there.. Here is the extract and make sure you dont laugh.. The site is perfectly made to represent a true Islamic site with all the downloads and articles.. But before you jump in read this extract found on page

The burial place of Jesus in Kashmir is known to the locals as Rauzabal, meaning the Honored Tomb.

It is known as the tomb of Yuz Asaf, which may be of Buddhist derivation (see link) or possibly from Yusu or Yehoshua (Jesus) the Gatherer.

Local tradition states that the entombed was a prophet of Ahle-Kitab, or People of the Book, and his name was Isa - the Quranic name for Jesus.

The prophet Yuz Asaf came to Kashmir from the West (Holy Land) in the reign of Raja Gopdatta (c 1st century A.D) according to the ancient official documents held by the current custodian of the tomb.

Some of the most extensive research on the tomb has been conducted by the now retired famous historian and former Head of Archaelogy for State of Kashmir, Professor Fida Hassnain.

The tomb is Jewish, as attested by the direction the grave is lying. Next to the grave is a footprint engraved in stone, an artistic rendition of the wounds of crucifixion." > I have already mentioned it somewhere back.. Go have a look there > This is a site which aims at converting Muslims into Christians.. Not so interesting however.. > This one was the toughest.. One can find absolutely no errors on it... But but.. It is too big a site... Actually I got this list from another site... And I am still not able to figure out where it opposes Islam.. But I am trying OK?

The list is under construction...

"many are the jinns and men we have made for Hell, they have hearts they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like Cattle nay more misguided for they are heedless." 7:179

Kashmir and the English coaching centres

I admit, I am suddenly seeing a large percentage of people conversing in English. I step into a bus and someone is discussing the al budget in English. I step off from the bus and the conductor shouts “Move it Mr. Driver'.. Lets enjoy this piece ... And a warning, please shut down your brains while reading this!

Well, its a great news.. the weather its like warming up.. after this terrible winter we have had here.. and yes I am busy as ever.. am learning to speak US english.. well yeah! With the pronunciation and stuff.. actually umm its not what you are exactly thinking at the moment.. no no I have not joined any english speaking institute.. One can see thousands of ads being shown on tv telling people that asthma is pronounced the way it is to be in the way they think it to be... and yes u just thought about the VETA academy or something like that.. well ok am really very sorry to disappoint you I am not going there.. actually I go to DOEACC for a course to study CCNA very quickly.. and then they have a class caleed ITES-BPO in which we are taught how to supeak properly and actually converse with someone in a very precise way..

Lets see Kashmir a phew years phrom now.. everyone speaking english.. but 'khaslat ma gasi change' O sorry 'khaslat' is actually Character.. either way the kashmiri counterphart appears to be a 'lekh' O sorry my mistake.. 'lekh' is not a 'lkhe nemore' it is abusive word..

and lets see what else can be done to the other words..

I hope people learn to say 'Millitary'. One might assume that the Kashmiri pholk is well versed with millitary terms and guns and ammunition.. but my friends it is not the same.. millitary is not millitary but rather 'mintry' so a millitary woul transforms to 'mintry woul'

Ashthma is not 'As-tha-ma' but Aezma.. O they are so clever.. they may teach the phish sellers at lal chowk to shout off their wares in a most peculiar way.. Instead of 'Gadehow chow' it is 'phresh and phine phish'.. instead of haqh it is ......... and we may see a new era of englishization in our beloved valley..

At this time when we should be concentratying upon saving our kashmiri language and promoting it, we are doing quite the opposite. Instead of opening quality “english teaching' centreswe should open a 'Kashmiri teaching' centre..I also know that it is a very bad idea.. After all, who among the new generation is going to learn this language when a supposedly better language can be taught.. Just one thought to ponder upon.. if kashmiris themselves dont take care of their culture and traditions, dont expect a Bihaari to start learning Kashmiri like we have started learning english.. u know english right?
before coming out in the ring to take on the people with the newly inherent english speaking skills you have got.. try to polish it a bit.. there is that everlasting and everechoing accnet + the fact that people have started to lay stress on the sound 'r'.. like in 'really' and ' strong'.. but when these comrades of english language are asked a simple question which is “Which animal is called as the king of the jungle?” the answer is loin... not lion.. lets forget my spelling mistake here.. and lets try to focus on “Lion” with a 'ee' sound first not 'loin' with an O sound first..

well this article is now worth of competing with one of the harry potter novels in terms of size and grammar and spellings. (not in english , though). It is also a good thing that the shorter the article, the less chance you have to spot the grammatical errors in it.. happy finding them.. and yesh re duni

Of dogs, kashmiris and deaths..

"Municipal authorities in Indian-run Kashmir have halted a programme to poison hundreds of stray dogs in the city of Srinagar.

The move came after animal rights campaigners threatened court action on grounds of cruelty.

Five hundred dogs had already been poisoned, but city officials say they will try a programme to sterilise the animals chemically instead.

The cull was originally proposed to help eradicate the threat of rabies.

Authorities had planned to poison the city's population of stray dogs with strychnine, health officials said.

Early reports said Srinagar's dog population was about 100,000, but the mayor told the BBC correspondent in Srinagar the figure was about 2,000.

"These dogs have become a big nuisance and they are threatening humans," said city health officer Dr Riyaz Ahmad, according to Associated Press news agency.

However, he told the BBC's Altaf Hussain that only rabid dogs were going to be killed according to the plan.

Animal rights activists have called the move cruel, pointing out that not every dog carries rabies.

They also argued the move was illegal, and had threatened to take the matter to court.

On Friday, officials said the programme had been cancelled.

"We're not going ahead with this poisoning, not at all," said Syed Haq Nawaz, a municipal official, according to AP.

He said local officials would work with animal welfare groups and federal environment officials to plan a programme of chemical sterilisation."

Read this and you can smile back in sympathy.

In Kashmiri some one has to die. So be the Kashmiris or the dogs.. Whats the difference..

The animal rights people oppose the killing of dogs and as you can see from this news article above, they win.. As compared the human rights people don't win.. They are silenced.. Like this:

George Vush goes to a primary school to give a speech. After his talk he offers question time.

One little boy puts up his hand and George asks him what his name is? "Bob".
"And what is your question, Bob?"
"I have 3 questions.

First, why did the UDA invade Piraq without the support of the UM
Second, why are you President when Ferry got more votes?
And third, what happened to Osama Bin Laden?

Just then the bell rings for recess.
George Vush informs the kiddies that they will continue after recess. When they resume George says, "OK, where were we? Oh that's right --- question time. Who has a question?" A different little boy puts up his hand.

George points him out and asks him What his name is? Steve" "And what is your question, Steve?" "I have 5 questions. First, why did the UDA invade Piraq without the support of the UM? Second, why are you President when Ferry got more votes? Third, what happened to Osama Bin Laden? Fourth, Why did the recess bell go 20 minutes early?! And fifth, where is "Bob"?!!

I see a smile and there is a good reason.. You just read a joke..

Back to where we were..

It all happens in Kashmir..

Where a human life can be given away but not the precious lives of dogs..

Kashmiris and dogs..

Ah! I see you frown!!
